British Cheese Week 1st-7th June
Posted on May 29, 2015 by admin
It’s British Cheese Week from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June and throughout the week we’ll be expanding our cheese offering to include a wider-than-usual selection from across the British isles.
Specially selected for us by Neal’s Yard Dairy, London’s leading cheese experts based just minutes away from us in Bermondsey, the cheeses will be served from an elegant traditional trolley, also British-made, by Thompson & Waterman. They will be offered alongside biscuits made for us by Borough Market-based bakery Bread Ahead and home-made chutney.
The six-strong selection includes Stawley, a goat’s milk cheese from Somerset exclusive to Neal’s Yard; Baron Bigod, a washed-rind cheese from Suffolk, French in style but resolutely British in manufacture; and Isle of Mull, a powerful, smoky Cheddar from Scotland.
Team members specially trained by the experts from Neal’s Yard will be on hand throughout the week to talk you through the various cheeses, enabling you to choose a personal selection suited to your tastes – as well as encouraging you to try something you might not have tried before!
The British Cheese Week trolley selection will be available at dinner only from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June 2015, priced at £14.50 per person.
