We’re back at Bermondsey Street Festival for 2015!

This Saturday 19th September, Bermondsey Street Festival – the annual celebration of everything that’s great about the neighbourhood we’re proud to call home – returns, and we’re delighted to tell you that we’ll once again have a stall offering a taste of aqua shard outdoors!

Come along and see us in Tanner Street Park from 11am and for just £7 you’ll be able to sample a sneak preview of one of our new weekend brunch dishes, Half roasted young chicken with baked apple puree, chestnut caramel and chicken & port gravy. Or for those of you with a sweet tooth, we’ll be serving a beautiful Passionfruit posset with grapefruit Chantilly, green cardamom and oat biscuit for £5.

Taste ‘The Icon’ by Chivas Regal at a very special dinner

Following the success of our wine tasting dinner back in May, we’re extremely excited to be hosting our next tasting event with Chivas Regal and Royal Salute whiskies. The dinner, taking place on Monday 14th September at 7pm, will be specially hosted by Colin Scott, master blender, celebrating the launch of ‘The Icon’ by Chivas Regal in our stunning private dining room.

Our night at London Bridge Open Kitchen

On a beautiful warm sunny evening late last month, we once again had the pleasure of taking part in London Bridge Open Kitchen. An outdoor celebration of the vibrant restaurant, bar and brewing community in the London Bridge and Bermondsey area, organised by Team London Bridge, London Bridge Open Kitchen saw us and a number of others ‘pop up’ in the courtyard of White Cube for one night only.

British Cheese Week 1st-7th June

It’s British Cheese Week from Monday 1st to Sunday 7th June and throughout the week we’ll be expanding our cheese offering to include a wider-than-usual selection from across the British isles.

Specially selected for us by Neal’s Yard Dairy, London’s leading cheese experts based just minutes away from us in Bermondsey, the cheeses will be served from an elegant traditional trolley, also British-made, by Thompson & Waterman. They will be offered alongside biscuits made for us by Borough Market-based bakery Bread Ahead and home-made chutney.

London Wine Week returns for a second year this month, from 18th to 24th May, celebrating the capital’s thriving and varied wine scene. Comprising a wide variety of tastings, pop-ups, masterclasses and wine tours, London Wine Week offers something to discover for everyone, regardless of level of knowledge or expertise.

Supporting THT’s ‘Supper Club’

Every year The Supper Club, a fundraising event for HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), brings together London’s top restaurants and caterers for a night of fifty glamorous dinner parties held simultaneously across the capital.

We were absolutely delighted to be invited to take part this year and offered our private dining room for THT to allocate to one of the parties on the night of 8th October.

Blythburgh baps in Bermondsey

Last Saturday we waved goodbye – for this year! – to the festival season with a one day pop-up at the wonderful Bermondsey Street Festival. After a fun first time in 2013, we were naturally keen to return and this year took along a bigger team – and a barbecue!

Going live! Anthony Garlando at Grand Designs Live

Everyone at aqua shard was delighted when our executive chef Anthony Garlando was invited to give a live demonstration at Grand Designs Live. This very popular annual home lifestyle and design exhibition took place from 3-11 May at London’s ExCel, and Anthony was given two slots on the busy final Saturday!
