When aqua shard met Sally – brunch, the movie

Print and online reviews can be great for getting a feel of our cuisine and ambience, and photo-sharing sites like Instagram are brilliant for seeing a snapshot of what our food and decor actually look like. But what better way could there be to get a sense of the full aqua shard experience than a cleverly put-together video of a visit?
That’s exactly what Sally Ashley-Cound made after she visited us for brunch last weekend, and we were bowled over by the results! Starting at ground level outside The Shard, Sally and friends soar up to Level 31 in the leather-lined lift before stepping onto our mezzanine with its spectacular panoramic views.
Pausing in the bar for #brunchtails – a hashtag coined by Sally which we’ll be adopting – the girls then go through to the main restaurant and kick off with a ’31′. This Champagne-based cocktail was specially created to accompany the Weekend Brunch menu and is only available when brunch is served! Food follows, in this case our famous Lobster Benedict and a half-dozen Colchester rock oysters, just two of the delicious choices from the menu priced at £39 for two courses or £48 for three, which also includes a ’31′.
After capturing some more great footage of the view, including trains snaking along the curved tracks towards London Bridge station far below us and the skyscrapers across the river in the Square Mile, it’s time to go back down (after missing the lift once – too many #brunchtails perhaps..?) and we say goodbye to Sally and friends outside.
We really enjoyed watching Sally’s video and we hope that it will whet your appetite for a visit to aqua shard soon. And if you’re wondering what that fantastic soundtrack is, it’s the wonderful Carmen Miranda!
How do you like to remember your restaurant visits? Do you make videos like Sally, or are you a fan of the photos? Maybe you write a blog? Tell us in the Comments as we’d love to know!
